Bloopers

We are so pleased that so many of you chose to send us your photographs from the wedding. This did set me up for some time at the scanner however... It was no small feat to sift, sort, and scan some of the 700 photographs taken at our wedding. I have included some of the fun and games behind the shots here in this section under the headings: Blink Sync, Bloopers, Japan Standard Time, and Abracadabra.

Blink Sync

Blink Sync is the only term I can think of to describe Midori's amazing ability to synchronize her blinking with camera shutters. Mr. Kotaka and I had a debate about the issue before the wedding, and Mr. Kotaka claimed to have beaten the blink. I was not so confident, and the results proved me right. There may be some money here if I can come up with a "blink free" feature for cameras (something akin to "red eye" reduction!) Consequently I have tried to come up with some reasons for this phenomenon:

1. Midori decided to spend a large part of her wedding day in spontaneous prayer
2. Midori believes that if she can't see the camera, the camera can't see her.
3. There is far more pollen in the air in Matsumoto
4. Midori was getting the "Don't blink" ESP messages backwards from Mr. Kotaka

If you have any other knowledge of this interesting phenomenon, please write and let me know!

Bloopers

Not all the photographs your see in this wedding album turned out as expected. Nevertheless our friends felt obliged to send us their artistic as well as descriptive photographs, and I thought it would be appropriate to highlight some of these here. If you would like reprints of any of the photos below, please let us know.
Japan Standard Time

Here's another interesting feature of many of the photographs which were sent to us: many of them had nifty dates on them. Guess when we got married? For the purposes of the wedding album I had the fun of going over each one with the paint brush to hide the effect!

Abracadabra

Here are some of my favorites: the magic shots! These are photographs which may never have occured in the real world. Photoshop is quite a program, and I have used it to open eyes as well as call people out of the ether into new and interesting worlds. Below are some typical uses of Photoshop magic in the wedding site photographs:
