Here are some of the terraced rice fields common in postcard and National Geographic views of Bali. Having lived in the countryside of Japan for quite some time, this kind of scenery isn't quite as much the draw it might have been to me years ago. For someone living and growing up in Newark, New Jersey however, I could see getting on a plane just to see a view like this.
