Dining in Bali Page 2

Some Enchanted Evening!

One thing that comes with travel is eating out (give or take) 3 meals a day. Midori and I have found a nice Indonesian restaurant in Tokyo that we frequent with our friends, but the real thing was much more interesting in Bali.

First of all, Midori had negotiated a "free breakfast" with our package, and when we took a look at the menu (and the pricies) at the Four Seasons, we thought there must be some kind of mistake. We were afraid to order in case we would have to pay in cash. Fortunately (very fortunately) the breakfasts were "free", as advertized. We realized very quickly however that we would have to eat lunch and dinner outside of the Four Seasons resort. The Four Seasons Resort has a strange concept for pricing its services relative to anywhere else in Bali. On the other hand, eating off the resort left us somewhat worried about the level of quality we might encounter. Midori was far more adventurous than I was in this respect, and made reservations for us at a number of interesting restaurants. By the end of the trip however I must admit that we were both longing for more stability in our diet.

Here is a collection of pictures of us enjoying eating here and there in Bali:
