One of the things
that stood out was the amount of moss, lichen,
green stuff growing on everything in Bali. Not
being blessed with a climate featuring periodic
cold arctic air from Canada or Siberia, Bali has no
chance to kill off things that cling and grow on
rock or wood. The result of course is that Balinese
sculpture generally has a life of its own, so to
speak.
There are also
many art shops in the Ubud region, and a popular
style of painting is the tropical bird style. These
two provide a good contrast in styles and I include
them here together for your viewing
